Arbor Gate for the Vegetable Garden

Last year Ray put up deer fencing for the vegetable garden on Block Island, but he ran out of time to put in the entrance gate. He finished it last week just before we came back to Durango and it has been worth the wait. It’s really beautiful!

The 4′ x 4′ posts and arch are made of rough cut Eastern White Cedar and the gate is made from Western Red Cedar using mortise and tenon joinery. The roses ‘Heritage’ and ‘Darlow’s Enigma’ planted on either side of the gate are going to look really great growing up over it. I can’t wait to get back in July to take photos of the entrance surrounded by flowers. The archKea and Sage were not impressed.
